North East Fife MP challenges Prime Minster on Brexit threat to universities

Yesterday I questioned Prime Minster Theresa May on the Government’s plans for universities when they take us out of the EU and asked her what reassurances she could give about research funding and freedom of movement for academics after 2020.

Her failure to provide reassurances, as described in the story published by the Courier today, is simply not good enough.

The Courier also revealed on Wednesday morning that the Principal of the University of St Andrews,  Professor Sally Mapstone, has warned that plans to slash the number of international students would be “deeply impoverishing” to Scotland and the UK.
