Amateur artists display works created for Art in Parliament
Members of Tayport Art Club are currently showing off their skills as amateur artists in the constituency office of Stephen Gethins MP.
The multi-media works were all created especially by the group’s 15 members for the exhibition which runs throughout September.
Several local artists and groups have shown their work since Mr Gethins was elected in 2015 and began running the Art in Parliament scheme which offers local artists free wall space for a month.
Tayport Art Club member Ella Sandeman said: “We are very pleased to be taking part and our members worked really hard to produce new works for the exhibition. We are really lucky to have our teacher Lorraine McKendrick who has given us inspiration and support for the last 14 years. We are a very friendly club with a shared love of art and are always looking for new members. ”
Stephen Gethins MP said: “I am really honoured that all of the artists created new work just for this exhibition. Art in Parliament is about encouraging people to show their work to the public and I hope that anyone passing by the office in Bonnygate, Cupar will stop in and have a look. “
Tayport Art Club meets in the Dickson Hall every week. For more information email Ella Sandeman at email@example.com
